What the examiner promises

Binary cells update simultaneously using one of 256 elementary rules. Neighbors wrap around a periodic ring. Search starts at width 3; widths 1–2 are outside the model. All states are enumerated at each searched width. Candidates are ordered by population, then integer encoding. For reversibility, the first collision in that order is returned.

Long-term claims use the complete transition graph, not a fixed time cutoff. Every finite deterministic orbit eventually repeats. A finding marked “no exception” is exhaustive only for the displayed widths.

The seeded exploration uses the same exact transition function. A sound, if enabled, plays a musical mapping of the first 32 rows; it is an interpretation, not additional evidence.
